5 years had passed since college graduation, and Tim and Jill were now happily married. Tim had graduated from law school 2 years ago and had found a job at a great firm; he was going by Timothy these days. Jill was just graduating from veterinary school and was about to start working at a wonderful office where she had interned for the past 2 years. They were looking at houses because their apartment would soon be too small for their family, they were expecting a little one in just a few months. When the moving day arrived, Jill tried to convince Timothy that it was time to get rid of his beloved futon. He adamantly refused, and said he would make a place for it in the back office. Jill begrudgingly agreed, and they ordered a neutral tone futon cover to match the decor of the den.
4 and a half years after little Tommy was born, his Mom and Dad decided that he was big enough to inherit the family futon. The Venus mattress was still in pretty good shape considering all it had been through, but they felt that Tommy deserved a fresh mattress. Timothy called Futon Planet, by this time a well known and appreciated customer, and ordered a brand new Lunar so Tommy could start off just like he had. They also got him a solid blue cover and a sport ball cover so he could switch them back and forth when one needed washing. As he set up the futon in little Tommy’s room, Timothy thought back to the day this very same futon had arrived at his home when he was only 8 years old. It was hard to believe that it had been 25 years since this Bifold futon frame was brand new. It wasn’t until that very moment that Timothy realized just how well this futon had held up over the years, how nice it was to have during those tight times after college, and now how special and convenient it was to be able to pass this durable piece of furniture down to his son.
