You may be aware that Futon Planet features a selection of nearly 900 futon covers. What you may not be aware of is that we writers, in order to give you a better idea of what you are potentially buying, have to write descriptions for each and every one of these covers. So among the scores of covers I’ve written for this website, from bright colors to darker shades, from ultra smooth to bordering on the rugged, from subdued to loud, I thought I’d tell you that I’d arrived at my personal favorite: the Bam Bam futon cover from Lifestyle Solutions.
First, the imagery. This design is absolutely lush, with an abstract patterning that strikes the perfect balance between natural and experimental depictions. You may be reminded of a Picasso painting or the decorations of dimly lit, classy jazz bars when you see the curving lines, swirls, circles, and squares of this baby.
The colors, oh the colors! Perhaps I have a soft spot for a design that blends violet and regal red, but the mellow, yet distinct color progression makes this cover really shine. The abstract shapes that lie upon this progression are colored accordingly so that the changeover between colors is not too abrupt, but definitely noticeable. Other colors found on this cover are olive green, gunmetal blue, and golden wheat, although this is by no means the complete list.
Finally, the fabric. The Bam Bam features a durable, yet very comfortable blend of cotton and polyester that has a rich variety of textures. For example, an arching stripe in the design may feature a slightly different weave than the background it is superimposed upon. The overall impression that this gives is of meticulous, masterful quality. I wouldn’t want to forget to mention that the Bam Bam futon cover is Scotchguarded to protect against spills and stains, and if that isn’t good enough, it is machine washable!
So if you’re looking for a lively, abstract cover that just oozes “cool”, then look no further than the Bam Bam!
