Most futons that are considered to be Beechwood are not really made of Beech at all, but usually are made of some form of rubber wood and then bleached and finished to look like beechwood. Contrary to what you might guess, rubber wood is a very solid type of wood and great for furniture making.
Beechwood futon frames have blonde look to them that can help to brighten a dark or dull room. They are also popular for sun rooms and Florida rooms, but be advised that like most woods, the beechwood futon frame will change in color when exposed to sunlight. In most cases, the beechwood will become more yellow under heavy direct sunlight, which many consumers like.
Beechwood futons are still quite popular although the dark wood craze has really set in at this point with the peoples’ affection for the beloved java finish. If you are looking to stand apart from the crowd, consider buying a beechwood futon frame instead.
