Futon Mattress Sliding? We Have The Cure!

New futon mattresses take a little time to be trained to bend and fold with the the futon frame. When you place a new mattress onto your frame for the first time, it might want to slide off rather than remain in place. Futon Planet features two specific items that prevent this from happening.

These products are relatively inexpensive, especially if it involves helping keeping your futon and home looking great.

One of the simplest ways to keep your futon in place is Futon Planet’s Magi Grip. This is a non-slip material that is similar to rug-stopper material. Arriving as just one roll, Magi Grip sits on the seat deck of your futon frame, under the mattress. This keeps the mattress in place when converting your frame from bed to sofa position.

Magi Grip is best for more common futon mattresses up to about 8 inches thick. After a few conversions, you may have to re-position the Magi Grip to keep it on the seat deck.

Gripper Strips are the best non-slip material on the market. Manufactured by Otis specifically for their futon mattresses, these high-friction foam strips keep even the thickest and toughest futons in place.

Gripper Strips arrive in pairs, one side has the high-friction foam, the reverse side is adhesive. Roll one strip out on to the front of the seat deck adhesive side down, and another one on to the top of the back deck. Together these strips will keep any futon mattress in place.

Gripper Strips are only necessary for thick, plump futon mattresses that want to stay more flat than bend, which matches Otis futon mattresses perfectly. Although you don’t have get gripper strips for the more basic futon mattresses available on Futon Planet, they won’t hurt.
