FLORIDA, Orlando, February 23, 2007–FutonPlanet.com announced last week that it will be adding Simmons futon mattresses to their online futon mattress selection. “We’ve been looking for a long time for a manufacturer who could fulfill our needs for a full scale drop shipment program that would help us offer customers quality futons at entry to medium level price points,” said Gabe LeBlanc, president of Futon Planet, “Simmons futon mattresses have really helped us acheive that goal.”

“We are still working on perfecting our Futon Planet branded mattress online program,” LeBlanc continued, “but because we are having trouble keeping up with demand we will continue to market our branded line locally.” LeBlanc feels that the goal of offering their premium branded futon line is an important goal, but has no target date available at this time stating that he is waiting from someone from the factory to come up with a viable logistics plan to serve the company’s needs in this arena. 

“However,” Gabe asserted, ”we are more than glad to sell any futon mattress from our Futon Planet branded line to any online shopper who makes a special request. We just won’t be aggressively marketing them for the time being. We believe that customers will likely recognize the Simmons logo more readily than Futon Planet brand and Otis brand name futons and that is certainly good for business.”
