The Orbit futon mattress is a basic cushion that does a better job than most other entry level mattresses. However, if you are looking for a good mattress to replace your old one on a Walmart metal frame, the Orbit might not be the best choice. This is because basic futon mattresses like the Orbit are thin allowing you to feel through to the bottom.
Metal frames and basic mattresses combine to form one of the least comfortable options for any futon owner. Instead consider upgrading to a double foam futon mattress. If you are still bent on buying the Orbit futon, consider creating some kind of buffer between the frame and the mattress. Some people actually use plywood or cardboard.
