Futon Planet has developed a rating for the Simmons futon mattress line to help consumers decide which futon mattress from Simmons will be the best for them. “We had the Simmons futon mattresses shipped to us the exact same way a consumer would receive their mattress,” says Gabe LeBlanc of Futon Planet. “We unpackaged them and set them on a frame. Our entire staff at Futon Planet then participated in judging these mattresses. The participants were asked to judge the mattresses with total honesty–which I feel they did.”
The futon mattress line offered by Simmons includes eleven different mattresses. Many have coil systems while others have none.
“The World Class Visco futon mattress did remarkably well, as expected,” continues LeBlanc. “The futon that scored the lowest seemed to be the Extraordinaire. It’s an expensive futon mattress which pales in comparison to the highly rated Ambiance futon which is closely priced to the Extraordinaire. It is likely we will place the Extraordinaire futon mattress in an out-of-stock status, because of its low rating. Buy the Ambiance instead,” recommends LeBlanc.
Other mattresses from the Simmons futon mattress line did well, but as always, Futon Planet recommends that you spend the most you can afford on the mattress. “Sometimes spending a little more goes a long, long way,” says LeBlanc, “and people seem to forget that in order to enjoy a futon, the mattress needs to be comfortable.”
Gabe also added that Futon Planet is glad to have the Simmons brand in their product line and happy to offer opinions, but that the consumer should take the opinions as only one small factor in buying a futon mattress for themselves. “After all,” LeBlanc shrugs, “eveyone has their own idea of comfort…”
